ABOUT SUMMERSAULT RESTAURANT

Summersault was begun in 1989 by Eileen and Michael Jeffs.

The idea was to start a restaurant and shop that was exciting and unique and one that had high standards and a thoughtful direction. The thinking discerning customers that Summersault was to be aimed at would increasingly want to shop in an environment that had some kind of conscience.

Eileen and Michael and their whole family were all vegetarians and therefore the restaurant had to be meat free. It was decided that it would be food for all - food from vegetables that was so good that even dedicated meat eaters would succumb to its seductive flavours and appearance. Hundreds of dedicated meat eaters have indeed been converted to the realization that food without meat can be at least as good and as satisfying.

We do not preach at Summersault but convince through the pure quality of our food. Throughout the years Summersault has used more and more organic ingredients. The unique nature of the establishment was further underlined by surrounding the customers with interior design goods for sale. This together with the carefully designed furnishings and décor create an ambience of cosy warmth that together with the food and drink give a total experience that aims to satisfy and relax.

In the last few years Summersault has restored the splendid building within which it operates. Now as a further development we stage live jazz music on Friday evenings. Thus we come to another of our aims to keep experiences real: real food, in a real building with real music.

A Real Experience for Real People!
